Iyengar Yoga Istanbul Institute is an organization with the following aims:
a) to promote a better understanding of Iyengar yoga in Istanbul. Primarily through classes, workshops, and other events.
b) to nuture and build the Iyengar community in Istanbul.
c) to work towards the setting up of a teacher training programme taught by experienced Iyengar Teacher Trainers.
d) long term to work towards the setting up of a Istanbul IYI centre dedicated to the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar
Anyone who attends Iyengar yoga classes and who is interested may join the Istanbul IYI.
Membership entitles the member to a say in how the Institute is run and a vote at committee meetings. Members will receive the Istanbul IYI newsletter.

İyengar Yoga İstanbul Enstitüsünün amaçları:
a) Workshop, ders ve çeşitli eğitsel etkinliklerle İyengar Yoga’nın İstanbul’da tanıtımını sağlamak.
b) İstanbul’da İyengar Yoga’yı beslemek ve geliştirmek.
c) İyengar Yoga Eğitmeni eğitimi vermek için deneyimli ve kıdemli İyengar eğitmenleri ile çalışıp bir eğitmen programı hazırlamak.
d) Uzun vadede oğretilerini B.K.S. İyengar’ın oğretilerine adanmış bir merkez açmak.
İyengar Yoga sınıflarına katılımı olan ve bu ekolle ilgilenen herkes bu enstitüye üye olabilir.
Üyeler oy verme aracılığı ile enstitünün yönetimine katkıda bulunurlar.
Üyeler İyengar Yoga haberlerini alabilecekleri bir elektronik gazete yayınlarlar.
